SCOPE

The project in Sydney’s CBD entails the construction of a Moxy hotel with 308 rooms, standing at 35 levels.

The complexity lies in the integration of various systems and approaches for structure, façade, services, and finishes. As it progresses under the supervision of Kuatro, the undertaking stands as a significant endeavour in contemporary hotel construction.

METHOD OF DELIVERY

The project is being delivered under a D&C contract.
The delivery is broken up into 3 stages being ECI, enabling works and construction ensuring that design risk and costs are managed at each stage to achieve the client’s development goals.

CHALLENGES, INNOVATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Due to its central location in the CBD the project several challenges faced the team including subcontractor procurement, supply planning and site setup.

The project brings on multiple logistical challenges in supporting the adjacent and rear buildings whilst they are occupied, whilst tackling the challenges of building against a live footpath. Thorough planning is being implemented into the methodology to ensure programme remained uninfluenced.
